Hi! We are Lucy and Neil Hooton

Hi, I’m Neil! I’m an engineer, drummer, bread baker and brewer of variable quality beer.

Hi, I’m Lucy! I’m a primary school teacher, avid book reader, hill walker and I love practicing pilates.

We both emigrated from the West Country to Yorkshire in ’99 and now have two teenage yorkshire lads. We have always loved bringing the boys to the dales and have a particular soft spot for Nidderdale with it’s wild scenery, family activities, great pubs and friendly locals.

We set up Fern Cottage as a holiday let in 2021 and hope to share the experience of spending time in this wonderful part of the world with you.
